Biography
My CVName, Origin and PronunciationThe word Kinesiology comes from the Greek work kinesis, meaning motion. In the medical sciences it is the name given to the study of muscles and the movement of the body. Kinesiology is best pronounced kin -easy - ology.
Development HistoryApplied Kinesiology was the name given by its inventor, Dr George Goodheart, an American chiropractor, in 1965. Goodheart discovered that when a muscle was tested, the result could reveal vital information, which was quite impossible to determine by any other method of investigation. In the last 30 years, the body of knowledge on Kinesiology has developed rapidly, and much clinical research has validated the many new discoveries.
In the early 1973 John Thie developed a system of Kinesiology called Touch for Health specifically for non-medical professionals that has since been experienced by well over 3 million people in at least 50 countries.
Kinesiology is one of the fastest growing and most interesting developments in modern natural healthcare. There are different types of Kinesiology, Classical, Health, Education, 3 in 1, Creative and Progressive to name a few, but they all use muscle testing as the basis for their work.
Top of pageA Sample SessionThe Kinesiologist will first take a medical and lifestyle history. You remain fully clothed in a Kinesiology session. The Kinesiologist will place your arms, legs or head into specific positions and then apply gentle pressure. Muscle testing gives the Kinesiologist information and feedback from your body about its condition and can assess the order in which to treat the imbalances. A treatment plan may include nutritional supplements, emotional stress release techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique, acupressure, gentle structural realignment, firm reflex massage and suggested lifestyle changes and more.
Kinesiology can detect imbalances in the body's systems in four key areas:
Chemical nutrition, hormones, pH good health begins in the gut
Structural bones, muscles, tissues
Emotional fears, phobias, trauma, stress
Electrical hydration, energy levels and energetic fields
It can assess a person's response to any stimulus.
It draws on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and can evaluate body function through the muscle/meridian relationship.
It can also establish connections between imbalances, put them in order of priority and determine the most effective treatment.
Kinesiology is renowned for being able to uncover and help the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means.

Testimonials"I suffered from IBS for years before I came across kinesiology. After two sessions in a month my symptoms had greatly improved. Marcia had identified several foods which were causing me problems and after their elimination, I had more energy an less trips to the loo"
Mary, Greenwich, London"My problem was sore and irregular periods, spotty skin and suspected PCOS. Marcia found that my liver function was not working at its best and used herbal remedies to detoxify my system. Two months later, my periods were back to normal with less discomfort. My skin has also cleared and I now have a better understanding of how my body works."
Catherine, Blackheath, London"I have a very busy job which keeps me working late. My energy levels were on the floor and I felt very run down after a particularly long contract. I first contacted Marcia on the recommendation of a friend and I was totally sceptical about kinesiology as I did not know too much about it. However I was ready to give anything a try and I was really pleased with the results. Marcia found that I was deficient in B vitamins and magnesium. I started to take these supplements and since then I have noticed that my stress levels are down and that I have more energy. Thanks very much"
